I'm sad for you.
How are you being penalized again?
 - wow shots fired!!!
It is a game buddy. Of course EA is trying to make as much money as possible you would do the same thing they are doing if you were in their position. glenjamin8 wrote:
To be fair it is shocking how much EA make off a phone/tablet game. The money it costs to have all the xharacters/buildins far surpasses the amount anybody would ever pay for say a PS3 or an XBox game.
it surpasses the cost of the game and systemempathy77 wrote:
Its like I (and everyone who started late like me) am being penalized for getting addicted to this game late. So EA, if someone with power is reading this (of course no one is), you are one greedy, dirty, consumer hating corporation.
No, you're not being penalized at all. That's like saying I should only have to pay 25 cents for bread because in the past bread cost 25 cents.- You won't get a lot of sympathy from this forum when it comes to EA. This is the Mecca for EA fanboys and girls, and I've never understood why. I think it is because most of the people on this forum don't have the past abused wife relationship that we console players have had with EA. It always cracks me up when people defend them, talking about how "they need to make money too". If they only knew. Most have no idea of the greed monster EA has been looooooong before TSTO was even an idea.
I mean EA was voted worst company in America for 2012. I will say that again, WORST company of 2012! While I don't agree that they are the worst, that says a lot that a video game company took that title. They've been giving their customers the shaft for years, and it's all because they've tapped (pun intended) into a great money making scheme, addiction.
Everyone will agree that this game is addicting, and EA knows it. Just like a junkie trying to get his next fix, people will pay anything for their precious doughnuts, and again, EA knows it. If someone could explain to me what EA's rational is for the prices on their doughnuts, I would love to hear it.
I just finished the single player of "The Last of Us" on PS3. I won't get into the details about how ridiculously amazing and moving the storyline and graphics of this game are. Let alone what it must have taken to program. That game cost me $60, and has an amazing online multiplayer mode, where I play and talk with friends all over the world (not visit their town with zero interaction). Again, $60. So please please please someone tell me how it isn't BLARINGLY obvious that EA has tapped into an addiction and is now price gouging people beyond anything I've ever seen in all my years of gaming. I know they are not the only ones to blame, as suckers...... I mean people are willing to pay for it, but it seems a little over the top to me, ESPECIALLY FOR A TABLET GAME! I know most on here will disagree with me, but please do a little research on your precious EA. Just be prepared to wake up in cold sweats of guilt when you realize who you've been defending screaming "The doughnuts aren't worth it!!!!!"
Edit: And by the way, almost all video games have exclusive content (usually in the form of preorders), but even that becomes available to everyone else at a later date. It is extremely rare that a video game has major content unavailable to people just because of the time they started playing the game. People need to drop the elitist "I was here first, so you can't have any" mentality around here. It's not the way it's done in video games, period. - I was born in the 70s and missed out on Woodstock. I feel like I (and everyone else born after 1955) am being penalized for being born so late.
So, if someone with power is reading this, please re-animate the corpses of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jerry Garcia, etc.
In conclusion,

Very well said
The donuts and the cost number of donuts that it takes for items is way too expensive. The only thing i can disagree with is that your point that you buy a game for $60. although that is true for the most part that game is complete. where as this game is continuously being worked on with new updates to it all the time. so that being the case they need to be making money to continue. i do feel that they would make more money if the prices were lower. i do not really spend money on the game just because of the cost of donuts if they were cheaper i probably would and it is not a money issue it is the principle. I know i will never get everything i want in this game because of the high prices and i am fine with that but i have recently decided to allow myself to buy one golden scrather per month which will work out to $60 in 5 years. same as your $60 video game and you most likely will not be playing that game in 5 years either. This game may not even be around that long- After playing 4 hours a day collecting snakes in my town and searching through 100 other towns, I would have almost rather paid for the Whacking Day content.
And to all the people who complain about this or that, I have one solution for you. Stop Playing. It's as simple as that. No one is forcing you to play this game. There are several other games just like TSTO. Go play one of those games. Worm32 wrote:

you should learn what "limited time only" means.unstopular wrote:
You all act as if EA is the first company to develop a game using this system.
Do you complain at a $60 console game that you later buy $15 expansion packs for as well?
If you don't like it, don't play or don't buy donuts. Simple concept really.
No I don't complain. Because for that $15, I get a lot more game content, in the way of new levels, new game modes, brand new experiences in a game that I love. A TON of programming went into that $15. That same $15 in TSTO, will get me a static building with no animations or character involvement. I'm sure the devs of TSTO are really slaving away, burning crazy overtime to make Barney's Bowlarama just right for the price.
