So maybe that many things going on at once is just too overwhelming for our operating systems to handle. I don't think it's laziness, if anything probably a budget concern.
As you mentioned a large part of former events was visiting neighbors both to collect things and drop them off. But now just visiting neighbors has gotten glitchy; it seems half the time I go to the Other Springfield my neighbors have disappeared (I have 5 games so I log in out between the games a lot). So if some of the event currency (gifts, eggs, etc.) depends on accessing neighbors the event could be just a frustrating disappointment.
Yeah, I miss all that stuff also. I also miss the events that had a movie clip for completing acts such as the Wild West one. Good times.
