I think that limited items you can sell should be in store when you sell it.So if you sell the maple store you can buy it again. This way you can keep the items:)

Mostly bragging rights. It was only available when TSTO was only available on iDevices, so a lot of people missed out on it. Apparently it adds a 5-hour task to a few characters as well.

The duff race car was already released twice? So I would assume it's less rare. I wasn't playing on first release but I got it the second time. It was first released in Oct 2012 ( I started late Nov 2012) then again in? I got it the second time.
