Ugh, looks just like every other horror movie being made right now. At least Raimi and Campbell support it, and tapert has a producer credit in this one too. But still, somethings are best left alone.

Evil Dead is a CLASSIC! They better do it right, or they shouldn't do it at all...

Looks like they are going for the serious approach, much more 1 than 2, but I do see them incorporating the chainsaw. Just not sure.

I am skeptical about remakes within the horror genre (my favorite genre) in general and I am actually happy that they are going in a more "serious" direction with this movie, instead of trying remake Evil Dead to the letter. I love the Evil Dead movies for exactly what they are-awesomely campy and over the top horror. Looking at this new movie as a "stand alone" it seems decent, when I look it as a remake I don't like it.

If we remember the first Evil Dead was a much more serious attempt, ED 2 and AofD obviously are over the top camp.@XBL - only saw a quick clip so I cannot tell, but seemed like there was reference to a hand and a chainsaw, but not in an over the top way.

Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2 are personal favorites. The red band trailers for this are absolutely incredible. The amount of gore and blood will be pushing the R rating. Watch the red bands, not the green band. It'll change your mind. Just relax and enjoy it. It's not the old version but it's a new take and looks like a horror film for the ages. I'd rather it not try to be the older ones. And the best part is the effects are practical and not filled with lame CGI.

Bruce Campbell is the man! All you ED fans should read: If Chins Could Kill.

Also, for a look at some modern schlock horror check out Rubber. I was going to post the movie trailer, but it's a weensy bit gory. Still rated for all audiences, but eh. Here's the link http://www.rubberthemovie.com/. It's definitely worth viewing.

Oh, and Cabin in the Woods is good for some gory laughs too.

Just looked at the trailer and does look pretty good to be fair :)

Although gonna be hard to beat the old classic version(s) :) Evil Dead 2 was good bruce campbell made the film :) Gotta admit i did find Army of darkness really funny :)

Love it Neo!!! With all the Evil Dead talk I was going to watch all of them again this weekend anyway, but after watching the one liner clip I am starting with Army of Darkness, it never gets old!!!

I was looking on youtube for a certain clip but couldnt find it hence all the one liners lol :) The film is on there too :) soo im gonna watch it tonight too :D

I remember it being longer than 1hr 20mins tho :? or am i wrong? :?

My fav bit of the film is when he is with the 3 books and forgets the words ROFLMAO lol :lol: :mrgreen:

1 hr and 20 min?!? Wow, I thought it was longer too, guess I haven't seen it in a while. I think it seems longer to me because we would usually watch it 2 or 3 times in a row because it's so frickin' funny! :)

I'm not a fan of the horror genre, but there is a terrible movie from the 80's called Blood Diner with a quote that has become part of the every day lexicon within my circle of friends: "Sheetar, you look good. What a set of knockers. If I only had my shlong back you'd know the meaning of machismo."

It adapts well to all of life's circumstances:
Cobb Salad, you look good. What a set of mixed greens. If I only had my shlong back you'd know the meaning of machismo.
mdfriend, you look good. What a set of Wahlberg-like features. If I only had my shlong back you'd know the meaning of machismo.
Other Springfield, you look good. What a set of tap-able buildings. If I only had my shlong back you'd know the meaning of machismo.

I just googled Blood Diner and I am shocked that I haven't seen it! That is exactly the kind of movie I would have actively sought out, I am going to add it to my weekend movie list. It looks terrible, which means I will love it.
