- they need some sort of rewards program for people that spend a lot of money on the game.
a bunch of items/skins/buildings that only people with a certain amount of points can get. - You want a cookie?
Anyone else hear Charlie Brown's teacher voice when ya were reading what Josh wrote? Or was it just me?
Not voicing an opinion on Josh here but this comment gave me a giggling fit.!- Here's a thought: Stop * playing you whiny *.
- Working in a legal profession, all I have to say is that everyone, even the vilest of perpetrators, has the right to a defender.
And what's good enough for a court of law is good enough for this forum. These gifts reward freemium players who don't help EA at all while insulting those like myself who put food on EA's employees' tables. I pay these guys and they reward you nobodies.
They need to start giving better gifts to the paying players. Maybe they should charge for a premium account or something. $5 per month would make sense...then us premium people can receive better gifts. If they aren't able to do that, they need to stop inflating the premium content every update or they need to provide more donuts from tasks or something else at higher levels to compensate for the insane inflation after each level update.
Whoo Hoo! I go to walk the dogs, come back and find another attention seeking thread by the forum troll.
Anyhow, while I do agree with the sentiment expressed to a point, there is some faulty logic presented in the argument. The complaint that freemium players are getting all the good stuff for free is an impossibility, unless those free players are going to certain external website, mentioned in the game yesterday, and getting free donuts, thanks to some hackers - who also happen to be forum regulars. Based upon the amount of donuts given away and the costs of the premium stuff, there is no way, any free player will ever be able to collect everything unless they continually play for the next few years. Even by then, there will be new content that will still be unattainable by free players, because of cost.
I do agree, that at some point, all content should be made available at a specific price. IE - pay 50 bucks and get everything for the year. Kind of like they did with the Sims expansion packs. This charging $10-$20 bucks or more everytime there is an update is a bit much.
But again, the blame rests on us, the consumers, not EA. If people didn't snap up these premium items and continue to fork over the cash, then EA would no longer continue to offer new content that costs an arm and a leg. I'm not an EA apologist and I set specific limits on the amount of money I will spend on a game. If something isn't worth it in my opinion, then I simply don't buy it and move on - I don't blame the company.
It's a business - its goal is to make money. Unfortunately, this company understands the weakness of the general population and releases a sought after product at outrageous prices and people buy it. Then people complain about it. Still, you buy it.
I decided to buy and support what has already been made available with no expectations on future content.
The idea that premium players should get extra rewards isn't really necessary. Premium players are already getting rewards by buying the items that they want that freemium players can't afford. And from these premium items, extra money, experience points - which in turn earns extra donuts, are already being released.skippermeh wrote:
You remind me of Marmite Josh...
Some love you and some hate you, but underneath that thick shell of yours we all know how soft and gooey your center is.
I've actually had marmite recently...never even heard of the thing until my parents took a trip to England and came back with some for me to try. We all agreed it was absolutely the most vile thing we've ever tasted. I can't believe they call it food. I couldn't get rid of the taste after I had it. They brought some back just to show me how disgusting it was. They told my brother it tasted good just to trick him into trying it. They warned me ahead of time but I still tried it (they gave me the warning since they like me more than my brother).conalmcainsh wrote:
That was well written for your standards josh. Want a cookie? The fact is that you are constantly complaining and we defend the developers for putting time and effort into delivering the amazing game that you enjoy playing whether you state it or not. Clearly you are still here and haven't deleted the game and moved on (much to the disappointment of the forum populous). Go sulk in a corner about the mean game giving you a lousy present instead of throwing these derogatory thoughts on us. Yes I didn't have to read this but I'm sick of you treating this forum as a PG swear jar for your amusement...
Edit: you do have a point with the inflated prices though. That's one leg to rest your griping on, unfortunately that won't hold.
None of this rebuts any of my points. All you did was complain about my complaining which isn't even about the game anymore.DarkSamus75 wrote:
Thanks JoshJeerer, you actually answered all my questions in your unique kind of way.
Glad you had a good read of my post in the last thread you made and answered the questions I posed over there in this thread.
Good day to you my good sir.
Glad to help. Unrelated but SA-X > Dark Samus.mdawny wrote:
Josh, that premium account fee is a great idea. I would pay. I spend around $20-40 a month, depending on what's going on in-game... And I pay for my mom's premium stuff too. So, they're getting a ton of money from me as well. While, sure that 10 donuts was okay, I'd rather have had a building or character. Because 10 won't buy you anything but fences, etc.
If people don't complain or raise issues, things don't get fixed. I'm in an argument right now with a rep from EA. MWDALTON knows what I'm talking about.  I won't go into that.
Josh has raised many valid points and issues. Heck, I think they like him over at EA. I mean they integrated him into the game! Lol! You go, Joshie! Keep up the good work! ;)
Agreed. $5 per month will help them out while helping us out. Then freemium accounts can still buy items if they choose but not unlimited amounts like those who pay $5 per month could.
