- I try to visit all my neighbors daily. It's a lot harder to find things to tap these days, but I try.
Of course, I've ended up dropping a lot of neighbors who seem to have quit since COC started. Oh well... room for more active neighbors. :) - with all due respect to my neighbors, I gave up a while ago. I collected my gold and trying to visit them was pointless when they were better off getting attacked by random strangers. My neighbors still got their FP and extra money from my handshakes so they are getting contributions from me but otherwise it's not worth it to attack them when it's barely any reward for them anymore.
Other than getting wall segments to make things look nicer I have basically given up on CoC altogether. Little point in it without real incentives like donuts. - These posts are helpful. At this point in the event, it seems like it is pretty common practice--even for daily visitors--to visit daily but distribute far fewer nerds, saving them primarily for neighbors with low totals.
Just did this and managed to get through the whole list in one sitting for the first time in awhile. Not exactly neighborly, but it gets rid of the staggered, multiple rounds of neighbor visits that have been stretching things out. Ultimately, getting attacked for an additional 10 elixir reward is mostly a charade, so I hope neighbors don't mind it. (Though if you like getting raided, let me know and I'll be sure to hit you up daily 8) ) montmorencyj wrote:
Getting ~$40k and 1-2 donuts a day from visiting friends means I'm still visiting everyone every day...
Excuse my ignorance, but how do you get donuts from visiting friends?- barryriddl474Seasoned Newcomer

When visiting friends and tapping on their buildings. I've received 2 from one town before, and someone here said they received 8 in one day, after visiting all of their friends. Homer will say, "MMmmm... premium currency", and you'll see a donut among the cash.
Also, I only seem to get them when I have completed all of the current friendship prizes.
It looks like this:
http://tstoaddicts.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/donut-b-town-472014.png - Since the new update, I only got 1 donut out of 4 days. I was getting about 1 a day before.
- I try to visit my friends daily, but I do sometimes skip a day to reset the time to fit my work schedule. I've cut back on sending them nerd, only going to ones who have less then the 38k needed to finish. The rest I'm sending to random towns. I have the cardboard castle at level 20 and the other two I stopped at 19. Right now I'm saving my Elixer until the end, then I'll decide what I want to buy with it. :-)

Thanks for the explanation barryriddl474, that answered my question fully. :D- barryriddl474Seasoned Newcomer

You're very welcome, Arbok9782! :D - Oh look. Over there. There's me with the wrong colour hair (I'm a blonde, but when I made that I had dyed my hair dark brown)... :P
Anyhow, I still visit daily (or I try - been having some problems with pre-existing pain issues). I first make sure to do my handshakes. Then I attack anyone who has something available to attack - if nothing is available, I move on. I do attacks in two rounds, as there are too many neighbours to do just one. I don't expect to be attacked back, especially when I have a friend who is still trying to finish the event.
I'm not picky about people visiting daily. Things happen in real life that cause people not to visit (illness, vacation etc. ). I'm still a fairly new social player, and have decided to wait until after the event to reassess neighbours who have not been visiting or playing - giving them a chance to come back in case COC is why they aren't playing.
Going forward, I know I'll probably miss a day or two here and there, so I tend not to hold it against anyone if they don't visit me for a few days. if they are away too long, some neighbour cleaning may happen. But not right now.
(Neighbours from the forum I'd likely PM before deciding anything, and wait much longer).
I admit, it is getting a bit tedious to do attacks (random and neighbours). But I'll do my best to attack until the event is over. :D
