+1 and then we will eagerly await the posts at the end of act two asking for an extension because you were behind because you spent two days of act 2 finishing act 1.
or we all just realize that those who put the time in get the rewards, those that do not, dont.
I missed almost 3 full days of act 1 while traveling and having little internet/wireless connectivity, and even more time with a wife at home (TSTO is not on my "honeydo" list unfortunately)... I still managed to get the gate with 2 days to spare.- Personally I'm not in favour of an extension as I have been waiting for act 2 for the best part of a week and honestly if you don't manage to get the gate it's no great loss as it will most likely just end up in storage at the end of the event for most people it's not like your missing out on a character or something ultra useful.
- you can still send kids to do smores on act 2 but i dunno yet if it awards you smores or what? it probably gives you gummies (the act 2 currency) i've to dwell in it more

I had to miss 1 and1/2 days because of issues. Still managed to finish an hour ago. Keep plugging away. You still have a chance.

Bingo! I'll jump off a frickin' bridge if they extend act 1. I finished it last Tuesday and want to move ahead!- No no no no NO
Lol I been waiting for act 2 for days now - No extension please, I have more s'mores than I know what to do with! Without the luxury of being able to eat the little goodies, I'd love to move on to something else.
