Please Help, Very Important

Google may be the same way. My credit card was required for even free app when I first got my tablet. I just set up my grand daughter table and no credit card was required

It's required to have it on the account though, but I still go through the gift cards and very cautious of my purchases.

It is absolutely NOT required on iTunes. My iTunes account does not have any credit or debit card attached to it. All of my purchases are done solely through gift cards.

Yeah it is, I just bought music 2 weeks ago. I had added a $20 gift card to the account, and said "Please update your payment information with a new credit card (previously linked one was expired long time ago) or a paypal account. It would not let me continue even though I had funds from a gift card.

There is an option to remove your card(s) from iTunes completely. That's what I did.

I haven't had a card (or paypal) linked to my iTunes account for at least 2 years. I've spend quite a bit of money on TSTO as well as bought 100's of songs and apps in that time. At no time has iTunes ever asked me to update my payment information.

I don't have any cards linked either. And I have no problems.

BTW.....I've heard that once you put in your password, there is a 5 minute window where the password is no longer needed for purchases during that time. So always be careful for a little while after inputting your password.

thats true. Very useful feature but can be very dangerous lol

Thought i would update you on the situation.
Apple/itunes have said my money will be returned within 5 days so iam happy about that.
The thing is iam now left with over 2500 donuts, they made no mention of them being deducted and seemed to think at one point that they hadnt arrived (although i did point out i had them, i think it was a basic template email with added parts)
I dont want to use them only to have EA turn round and make me pay for them, but having tried to find away to let EA know i have come up with nothing!
