correct, every screenshot is its own layer...as far as modes go, im not that advanced so i think just 'normal' mode? just dont change anything when you start it up, make the canvas massive (depending on how big your springfield is), and just stick with the move tool. insert image and move it so it overlaps.
pretend its a multi-track editing tool (adobe cool edit pro?) and each picture is a different track, line them up accordingly.
