My advice to freemium players and semi premium players and anyone else worried about meeting this grind of a target to get Monty. My advice is to rush the REST phase of when he is beaten and regaining health. It will cost just 2 donuts each time.

Unless EA fix this (which is doubtful) that is the best option right now for anyone concerned there isn't enough time left.

There is no way of knowing if EA will just give Monty to those that don't make it.
