Maybe nothing happens because your town has no blue shields. You would need to wait until you do. Then it should work.

Nope, when I have no blue shields and try to press the die it says 'No buildings are under attack'

When there are blue shields and I press it, the number of red die decreases and I collect from it but the task doesn't complete
