I'm gutting my town today to prepare for the update. I'm paranoid that it's so big and complex that I'll get locked out so I'm putting things away. Hoping that by having less things, I won't have any problems when the update comes on the 10th.
Figured this was a good time to also do that redesign I'd been planning.
The Simpson, Flanders, brown houses will be in the center to make them easier to find.
Just wanted to let ya'll know that if you see a sea of white? LOL it's intentional!
I've got big plans!
Feel free to "borrow" this thread if you have also gutted your town and want your friends to know.
I did a big re-design much like yourself and at first I was crashing when I moved across my town and then it went all laggy but stopped crashing and now it's all fine.
I think if you do experience these sorts of issues, just give it time as I think it's to do with the servers needing to save your game a few times and then store it to the memory bank, so I'm all good for the update with no need to hide things. So if you do decide to do a big re-haul just give it time afterwards to catch up on the change around and you should be set. At least a week, mine took a week and a half to sort it self out but just as a guide should you wonder.
Just thought I'd share my experience :-)
I had the opposite happen. I did a big redesign and it worked fine at first. The next day, lagging/near crashing started happening without any more additions. I'm hoping you are right!- Oh for a while now I thought about revamping my town.
I had initially set it out to look as much like the real Springfield as possible.
However this made some parts look a little messy.
So I thought, it's a game, time to put my stamp on it. SO last night did a rough plan and revamped it.
I hate it :(
I wish I could go back, stupid hours of revamping.
I need some inspiration again.
Maybe it's just the depressing snow.... :? killeru666ba wrote:
Has someone else seen this? I don't know exactly what this is but someone definitely put a lot of time into it. Some great ideas there though...

Yeh mine was the same, it was a day after my town started to crash but I do think it's to do with tHe memory of your game.NeoSEC28 wrote:

Wow these are detailed, half the stuff I don't recognise.- So I've started filling in the empty spots, going to make a McSimpson Mansion where the Burns Manor was slated to go and I'm going to get that dang-blasted sign because I have a big empty spot in the top right corner.
Good thing about this lack of a real update is that it gives me time to finish getting my regular game buildings. I still have to get the hospital, clinic, and news station. I've heard that the tasks for those are brutal.
Those of you who were waiting for an update or the snow to go away to do your redesign? Still waiting? Or has the itch gotten too strong and you've started the changes? - Today is the day for me, the big redesign begins! I have been slowly moving and removing things for a week or so, right now I am wishing I had done more prep work. :?
- BGringoNew SpectatorI've stopped decorating and have a few unfinished projects so I can use them to up the XP for when the next update comes. Might as well bankroll cash for the time being.

Shot in the wind, but can't you move the buildings n stuff off a full strip of land and opens trouble ticket with EA to remove that area?
Somebody (Simpsons00001 or Spiffshine) had said that the stability works itself out in a week. if you do any major changes it seems as if the game takes awhile to catch up. It's true. I stopped crashing but just did some more changes and added 4 plots of land so I'm crashing again.
Will see if in a week it straightens itself out. I also did the hard close of the application to see if that would help.
I would rather not open a trouble ticket with them, lol, that seems more trouble than it's worth.- I see some renovations in my future for this weekend. I had been saving up for the update, but took some of that cash to buy five or six squares of land this morning.
We'll see if I'm adventurous enough to unleash Magnum. I might just have to stick to Blue Steel or Le Tigre for the time being.
