Releasing Gremlins into Neighbor's Town?

I think it's to your benefit if you pop the ones you find in your town. If they stay for 4hrs your neighbor steals some of your goo, at least what I've surmised from posts here.

I have a second town where it's only friend is my main town. I dropped a bunch of gremlins in there, and it has 117 goo. I'm going to leave the second town alone to see if it's goo actually goes down. It'll be tomorrow morning before I check it again.

I've had a bunch of gremlins running around my main town, I haven't seen my counter go down yet. You do get 2 goo for popping a gremlin though.
