Running Two Towns??
You are guaranteed to have a neighbour that visits you! Lots of people have more than one town, commonly referred to as feeder towns, they can be helpful during events.

You will be surprised by how different the play is if you started your other town before the new mystery box. Check out the RTTF thread from some great tips; especially at the very beginning of your town. Like do NOT spend those donuts on rushing. At the end of the tutorial you'll have approx 50 donuts that you can use to buy mystery boxes. That worked very well for most of the RTTF players; giving them some premium characters and items. Also, we are finding that characters do not have to be free to trigger quests! I don't know if that works at the very beginning, but it is working that way for most of us now.
