I was lucky as I had 200 of everything and was able to unlock the characters for ads rather quickly.
Then I built up mats again and for every 15 mats I collected I burned through 12 to make ads. Then got my ads up to 160 or so and have "purchased" all the buildings.
Now I am just collecting to have the lattes, mats, ads, etc for the mountain lodge. Not sure where it goes after that, but right now I have 144 awards, 80 ads, 204 phones, 204 lattes, 200 furniture and 61 mats....
But I am lucky as with my job I can keep it open next to me at my workstation and pretty much collect every 8 minutes, so I can get 35 to 40 mats in an hour. Same for the other stuff.
