- Pick one dog in the dog races and ALWAYS stick with that dog. You should start winning every 4 or 5 times. On the car races, I pick the highest payoff no matter what car is there and I win about 1 in 6 or 7 races. It's all random anyway, so following my plan may not work for you. On the scratch offs, just keep playing. Ultimately you'll do okay even though it seems like a waste of time.
- You are guaranteed to win at least 100 on the scratch off game. The dog races and car races appear to be random, and pay out at fair odds.
- For the track and the cars, I usually pick the best odds and win a lot. Once I have won multiple times with the best odds, I choose one of the higher odds which has worked well for me.
- Castiel_ToukSeasoned NewcomerI always choose the Red racer and Raise by wolves as they seem to win the most for me but its different for everyone else.

Agreed. As far as I’m concerned the decision to play or not play these mini-games is a no-brainer. You’re guaranteed to come out ahead on virtually every Scratch-R transaction. I’ve heard other users complain that they ”never” win either at Springfield Downs or at the Go-Kart track. That certainly hasn’t been my experience. As an example, the stated probability of winning for the 2-1 contestant at Springfield Downs is 50.51%. That sounds right based on my gameplay. Given that the cost of a bet is $2K and the payout is $6K, the expected value of the wager is more than $2K. Why would you not place such a bet? (As I recall, the expected value for the 2-1 contestant is highest, but even for the 99-1 dog it’s around $1K.)
Plus I don’t like those floating icons. I might be tempted to play even if I knew that in the long run I’d lose money."meinaz;c-1614175" wrote:

Going to try this method.- I always go for the highest payout. I don't win often but I do win more often than the odds indicate I should. For a few days after I win I go with the best odds (lowest payout) until I win a couple times and then go back to highest payout.
Last week I won the highest payout for the car race and the next day the highest payout for the dog race! - I play just to get rid of the floating icons. I always pick the worst odds and almost never win but I’m ok with that. Maybe I have a problem ;)
- anaquarindNew SpectatorI understand that the race games are basically even odds, so in the long term will average to nothing gained or lost. I've stopped playing them though the untapped icons are a bit annoying

No, this isn’t true. If you accept the probabilities found in the Simpson wiki as accurate, the math is straightforward — in the long run the average value of a wager will converge on a positive value (see the example I cited above).
