Yesterday was annoying. I was planning to play last night and spent hours tapping 'retry'. Eventually I managed to connect. I'm feeling unhappy because I missed out on cannon firing and elves. I'm sure those players who have not had connection issues will not mind this event hanging around for another 3 - 4 days.

Since the beginning of the event, the event itself was scheduled to end on the 18th. The deadline for the prizes was scheduled to be the 13th. I found that bizarre when the event began. So, extending the time to get to that final prize by 5more days would make absolutely no difference to those who already reach their final prize by the 13th. None of them would see any change at all.

Maybe it was a built-in "cushion" from the start, to avoid complaints from the few players who would hate hearing the event was going to exceed the players expected date. That's the only possible reason I can think of for the initial discrepancy.
