So, I'm really going to have to spend 200k of elixir on windmills???!!
I just did it. A couple of each elixir decoration, about 30 walls, and then I finally started leveling up the other castles and got 8 box walls and 4 recycle walls.

I just saw a town with double wall around the perimeter of SF, AND alternating blue/red chained nerds defending it. Yes nerds all the way around SF. Well, three sides, not the beachfront. It looked cool. So spend if you want but you don't have to.
I don't feel a need to spend all the elixir. I got some extra walls and decorations, and it's enough already.
It was nice to have completed the event with time to spare.
It was nice to achieve all the decorations without a scramble until the last minute.
It was nice to NOT BE FRUSTRATED that I'm missing a feature only awarded by chance. The features i don't have i CHOSE not to buy.
Refreshing. I wonder how Halloween will play out.
