I think the game will have ended before then. As soon as the money coming in doesn't match the Simpson's license cost the plug will be pulled.
If the game's profitability were in trouble, I think we'd see more direct overtures from EA to buy/spend donuts. So far during this event, it seems to be business as usual. Until we see more frequent donut sales and premium content prices drop, I think the game's doing just fine.
This is good to know. I was beginning to wonder if all these free donuts were a signal of some sort ... but then again this is the first and only game of this type I've played.
Edit: I briefly tried the Sims Social thingy. I didn't like it and I don't have Facebook, so, I forgot I tried it.
