Springfield Downs

I have played it several times and i think i won 2 out of 10. (a couple of times 25.000 and 15.000). So there is hope, but i'm not gambling anymore, waste of money.
  • I wish we could put bets lower than 5000......... its just too much. its either 4-5 hours of 1h characters tasks or a full 8hrs of waiting to get my 5k back from blue houses lol.. all that lost in a less than 1min dog race where you actually ALWAYS lose. I tried all the damn dogs and only won once..

I just lost twice in a row, to dog with best odds!

But normally I have more often won than lost - only by doing the one with best odds though.

Initially after building Springfield Downs I was on a winning streak; even thought it was fixed to always win if chosing the smallest payout (like as if it were a buisiness or house collection).

Well that theory was disproved when I started losing - seeing odds similar to what they list ie: wins two out of three tries.

Losing 2x in a row was a first for me today.

Since I lost $5k this morning, thought I'd probably win the next and recoup some portion of the loss, but nope. LOST AGAIN! :x
10 grand lost while Im desperately saving for post office which to my surprise is available now for an enormous amt of cash.

And thinking on it now, as I wrote this forced me to think it out more:
It's not enough payout to be worth it... assuming the avg one loss to two wins on the lowest risk bet.

I think smaller bets should be introduced in an update as it takes ALOT to earn $5k

Couple of weeks ago i got super lucky and won 25k. It's possible but rare in my experience
  • I've played twice (once when they make you, and once on my own) and won both times. Guess I just got lucky, because I then saw forum posts about how poor the odds of winning actually are! Now I just refuse to play and keep my money in my control. :)

I noticed that the odds are different each time so they might actually have some random number generator running the game.

According to the verbiage that popped up while dog is running, you are right: it mentioned random number generation (in context of humour) during 2 of my races.

I wonder if the algorithm changed recently though because I am having worse "luck" lately despite doing the same thing as always. Or maybe I just have bad luck now.

Has anyone examined the app files to see what the algorithm actually looks like? I know for example in Paradise Cove by Pocket Gems, someone found a spreadsheet detailing the mermaid spin calculations (a slot machine-like functionality). I haven't checked it myself, but am tempted to look - using a file browser - just in case this similarly is out in the open to see.

I would also be interested in this.

I think this kind of information would be within the IPA file for the app.

Does anyone know a way to open this kind of file and find relevant information (in case they are encypted).

This would be great to apply to the odds within the Mystery Boxes and Homer Buddhas, too, which is primarily my interest in this. :D
