I think the TSTO game's purpose of the variants is so we can see more animated activities concurrently in the game. Otherwise some animated jobs I'd probably never see after the event is over. So I'm ok with them, IF it gives them a chance to write an interesting storyline. You know, the ones that don't require breaking the 4th wall or Homer being a buffoon.
