Springfield Heights… meh?!
Anyone else just think its ugly and boring, i’m tempted to not ever start the quest and just leave it. Does it stop any other game progress if you don’t?

@fuzznugget77 - it's a bit of a grind to start but you will eventually unlock 8 hour tasks that help it flow a little easier. The land and bonus already mentioned are handy, at least at first, and you'll get two free full characters - Cookie Kwan early on and Paris Texan at the end of the prize track.
I'll add - I built up my bonus in my second town and stored all of it, only used a few items in my A town in the last redesign and they'll get stored eventually too.
@Castiel19x - it's not just a hidden XP bonus any more, it shows in the CoM and boosts cash too now.
