Stackable elf tunnel??

On first login this morning, i got two elf heads, and 8 elves just as you did. I also had 60 elves instead of the 30 I expected.

I only noticed the double elf heads in one town, but wasn't really watching in the other three. Got the sixty elves in all four towns, though.

  • Yes, I had 3 elf heads above my tunnel when I woke up, but it wouldn't let me collect them until all my other elves in town were clear. By my count, I got 3 elves from each elf head (so 9 total). I didn't think to take a screen-shot since I assumed everyone else was getting the same thing.
  • This morning was the first time I noticed the elf head. I only had one. So it is indeed confirmed that it is stackable?
  • I have an elf head floating over my tunnel now. Will not touch it and report back later.

Edit: new thought if the elf heads are stackable is it possible that all the stackables are back? I'll have corn in 4 days, could be interesting.

Edit 2: went back and there were two elf heads and one hand shake, tapped the hand shake, tapped the first head, tapped the second head. I think I found 10 elves? So if the third tap generated a handshake it's a glitchy glitch?

I think what happened here is the handshake is for the bells, and the heads are for the elfvesregenerating.

I just played around with a few feeder towns. I was able to generate two heads but not a third. All the amount of town-synching made no difference (and for those who follow this stuff closely, I'm aware of how the synchronizing protocol changed earlier in the year).

Could just be me, so it would be great if someone else with feeder towns tried a few experiments. Since I think upgrades from cogs will be what makes this event run smoothly, generating massive numbers of elves would be a huge help.

The more I thought about it and how quickly the elves seem to reproduce I don't really think were on to much here. I would however and will tomorrow explore if the stackables are back for channel 6 and the farm, out of boardwalk tiles so moot point there.
  • I don't believe it's stackables, rather it seems more like a quirk in timing for you. Your neighbors being able to tap on the tunnel is something entirely different and separate from your tunnel's timer, so them tapping on your tunnel and your tunnel producing elves could be completely coincidental.

I have cleared out handshakes within minutes of each other and hours before my tunnel was ready to go, and when I woke up thisi past morning and cleared my tunnel's handshake and freeing the elves from my tunnel it was no different than this afternoon...if I'm wrong then I'll be glad to see stacking back but I don't believe I am.
  • Since elves are becoming harder to come by, I figure I'd bump this thread. As John pointed out earlier, it's a marginal difference, but I can confirm that you get an extra 4 elves when that second head appears.

Here's how you can help your neighbors just a little: if you're down to your last tap and you have the choice between the canon and tunnel, choose the tunnel: you might just be giving them an extra four elves.

(For those with feeder towns, exit and reenter to synchronize your town between taps. During stackables, one needed only to exit or enter to synchronize. That changed with Stonecutters.)

Again, not much of a glitch to be exploited, but I'll bump again at a more civilized hour.
