Werewolf Tunnels

I've been watching a lot of werewolf lets plays and so far none of them took the tunnel trip mine did. One trip was to the portal potty, another too the secret tunnel. But the one I haven't seen before was Forgotten Grato (Vampire World). Where has the tunnels sent your sims?
  • My werewolves must be super dumb because two max out apex wolves have not unlock a single road yet. ? And I sent them there daily. Maybe I missed some entires in books, I’m not sure.
  • You can be bit in the tunnels. I did it with 3 sims. The first sim took 5 try's, the second sim took 12 try's and the third sim took 3 try's. I kept sending them in over and over until it happened. This way I didn't have to ask, it just happened.
  • Also have your weres read up on lore in the werewolf books. Basically have them reread them a lot. Some new clues might be revealed and I think this unlocks certain quests or prompts when they explore the tunnels next. My were translated a musical tune that had magical vibes to it in one book. The next time he explored the tunnels and traveled to the room with the magical paintings, a prompt csme up for him to howl to the tune he reme.bered reading about. More lore was revealed and he found a moonwand!
Also have them travel the same path over and over again. I have the vampires pack, my were kept going towards the garlic scented path over and over. The last time, he came out of the bathrooms in Forgotten Hollow!
He beat up Vlad. Then wrecked all the showers/bathtubs. Vlad fainted. It was hilarious
  • I was having a test and play around with the pack, and I tried so many times to get the interaction that gets you attacked by a werewolf, and I was barely getting any options to choose at all. In fact, some of the times I sent my sim in, and then the first pop up I got was 'there is light ahead, must be an exit', and she came straight back out. :/

The tunnels seem to be very random about what they do or don't do. Definitely not my favorite feature of the Werewolf pack.

Same here. My sim has taken 20+ trips through the tunnels and not discovered a single road. I was beginning to doubt if connecting tunnel exist. Maybe there is some kind of trick to it?
  • Within the hour after posting this, my sims discovered their first tunnels. Two werewolves each found a different connection practically at the same time. Looks like the unlocked tunnel is a hidden trait.

    details about the hidden traits:
    Spoiler
These are the traits I unlocked
    trait_Hidden_WolfTown_PortalUnlock_PortaSewer
    trait_Hidden_WolfTown_PortalUnlock_MinePorta

edit: for the sake of being complete: I found this hidden trait on the forum but didn't unlock it
    trait_Hidden_WolfTown_PortalUnlock_SewerMine

with the cheats I was able to add the trait to unlock a route by cheats. I needed to type the following
    traits.equip_trait trait_Hidden_WolfTown_PortalUnlock_PortaSewer
  • I sort of dislike the repetitiveness of the tunnels. I wished there could be more chance cards. That’s why discovering road was a chore for me. Always the stuff with moon melody and garlic. I had the attack in tunnels once with human sim. Except for that, nothing new.
  • I think the key to unlocking the tunnels is the Nightvision perk. I was just reading the description which says:

"Exploring the underground tunnels beneath Moonwood Mill can lead down to a dark dead end. With this ability, Ava will be able to conquer them by seeing things she would otherwise have missed, as well as spend less time hunting for prey at night"

I tested it with Rory since she already has Nightvision, and after 5 trips starting at the sewer grate she unlocked the route from there to the portal potties. I tried several more times starting from the potties but didn't discover the route to anywhere new. Using that example, I had Rory go home and try the portal there and the sewer grate was greyed out and the portal potties weren't even an option. It seems like having that perk is either necessary or at the very least it speeds things up, and you have to start from each portal and through trial and error learn the way to one of the other exits. Learning a new exit point doesn't grant you the ability to go there from just any portal. You have to learn how to find that exit from each of the other entrances separately.
