I get the little popups in my town - I have all notifications turned off on the phone and settings, yet these little notices keep popping up. I share the original poster's annoyance - there's no reason for this. Seriously.

To turn off notifications, go to the store menu.
From there, click on the gear in upper right hand corner.
That will bring up your options, and you should find push notications on/off.

Is it really that much of an annoyance to tap the OK button? Maybe my game works differently than yours, but I don't get these neighbor visit notifications more than maybe once or twice per day if a neighbor visits while I happen to be logged on. If each time we logged into the game we had to go through a list of notifications for each neighbor who had visited since our last log in...now THAT would get annoying!

Tried that long ago. It is always set to "off".
Every time there's an update and I check to be sure my donut confirmation hasn't reset, I also see the push notification setting and it's always still set to " off."

Yet, I get notification throughout the day, here and there, that neighbors have visited. Often, it's the name of a visitor whose handshakes I cleared a while before the notification appears.

Maybe I'll try setting it to "on" ... :)

I think this is a bug as I get friend visit notifications too even though all TSTO notifications are disabled. I also get some event notifications that will still make it through.

At least there isn't any sound. Prior to disabling notifications I would get woken up at night even though my phone was set to silent.

Both of those issues are bugs in my opinion.

Try your device settings. Go into settings and click on the TSTO app it has a notification switch turn it to off. :D

Thanks! This worked for me. :) I had turned off push notifications before that, and I was still getting those pop up messages.

this is a fairly new issue affecting me too (using an Iphone 5s). I have notifications turned of in the game and from what I can tell I have push notifications disabled too. However, I recently started getting notification at the top of my screen - only when someone visits my town. I cant for the life of me figure out where to turn those off too.
