Stop Sending Me Notifications for People Visiting My Town

For some reason I thought turning off device "show notifications" for a specific app (like Tapped Out) would also stop automatic updates for that app. But you're right -- all it says is "show notifications" so I cleared that check mark. Doh.

I play on my Ipad and a few months back I kept receiving those notifications even after putting the option off on both the app and the settings of the IPad. I finally resorted to deleting and reinstalling the app when during a board meeting of my son's swim team I got Homer saying, visitors, better put on pants! Everyone laughed but still... :oops:

So if it annoyes you try deleting and reinstalling it worked for me :wink:

My only problem is there isn't a way to choose between these notifications and when someone completes a job. I like having a notification of when jobs complete, but I don't need the 40+ notifications a day that someone just visited my town. I stopped getting friend visit notifications a long time ago, and it was bliss. This past update seems to have fixed that "bug" though, so now it's either ignore them all or stop the notifications all together.

Is it really that much of an annoyance to tap the OK button? Maybe my game works differently than yours, but I don't get these neighbor visit notifications more than maybe once or twice per day if a neighbor visits while I happen to be logged on. If each time we logged into the game we had to go through a list of notifications for each neighbor who had visited since our last log in...now THAT would get annoying!

I agree, it's not a huge annoyance. But it is completely unnecessary, and I do usually get a lot more than 2 per day. I simply don't understand why it's not turned off with the others, or why they feel the need to have that notification at all.

So - is there a solution to this?
