Thanks to everyone for all the great advice! I'd answer each one of you, except EA makes me wait too long between messages. I know, spam and all...
I like the advice on just getting KL tickets from Sideshow You. I do have that so I think I'll just go slow there. I sort of want to put at least one more building on my SP because it's a money generator. But in general, I think I'll stick with SF until I get through the main quests. You're right, there's absolutely no rush, but I sometimes get impatient waiting around to earn enough to get the next building.
Now someday I hope to earn enough donuts for a premium building/character. Could get Otto now but I wonder if another character might be worth waiting 20 or 30 more donuts for.
One piece of advice ... I'd hold off buying new buildings or tiles until you save up $1,000,000 ... This is probably overdoing it, but in one of my towns I was unable to buy the Duff racer a few months back because it cost $250,000 and was only available for a couple of days. Ingame cash takes time to save up. I'd just put out $20,000 to start building a stupid tile, and a few thousand to buy a plot of land. My available remaining balance was right around $230,000, and i wasn't at a stage where I could make THAT much money in just a few days.
As I said, a million is probably overdoing it, but after that I brought everything to a standstill until I saved up a million bucks. Frankly, that was an outrageous money-grab from EA. That's just my opinion, but getting one's hands on a quarter million ingame dollars in two or three days is virtually impossible. They set outrageous prices to buy ingame cash with donuts and knew that the Duff Racer was one of the MOST desired items in the game. No prior alert that it was coming up. That was the first time I saw something that was offered on such a short time which was priced so far out of reach for so many players.
I will do just fine without it, of course. But that doesn't make me any less disgusted. Not surprised. Businesses often do disgusting things. And we're taught to admire their cleverness. Ptui.
