Suggestion: "Player is away for x days" button
I think this idea is promising. In addition to that, there should be in game messaging. That would save a lot of Springfield relationships.

I like the idea of an "Away Button" or sign/notification for neighbors. It might need parameters though - like max days. Another thing that would be cool is if the "Away Button" could extend your tasks and prorate cash and xp for it while your away so that it continues to accumulate. Or at least won't let your crops die.
