Summer Showdown 2013 vs 2014
Summer isn't over yet...we might get something in August or early September.

At this point it's unlikely we'll have anything that came close to last summers expansions. We got the Squidport plus all the water tiles which was huge, plus KL which isn't great but it was still big, and plus the land.
This summer already lost out on one major addition to the game because stonecutters event was just an event. Nothing new was really added like during the SP update. If rumors are true and we get a monorail update, I doubt they'll add anything new either (nothing that wasn't already there at least).
We can hope for more land and see what happens.
So in terms of completely new things being added, I think last summer already won, because of a new part of the map (water) being opened up, and a new map being added (KL).
In terms of what was better and more enjoyable, this summer might take the crown, because stonecutters was fun, and if we get another event that's at least just as good as stone cutters, this summer will take the crown for being more enjoyable.
