Tapped Out app won't open at all

Interesting development ... I have two apple IDs, I tried signing out of one and into the other and deleting/reinstalling the game but when I launched it it still prompted for my first ID's password and crashed straight away.
I did a full wipe of the device (an iPod touch) and went through the setup process using my second ID (not the one I purchased donuts on - I've actually never used this account before) and installed the game, when I launched it to my surprise it downloaded the data and I was already logged into my origin account and my Springfield was intact, albeit without my purchased donuts (I expect I'll have to log back in with my original apple ID to get these, although I think I'll be asking for a refund anyway).
I'll leave it like this until EA get their * in gear and fix it, this was all done with one device.
