I would actually go into your account and check your balance. I have found that the balance at the bottom on the main page of the App Store on the iPad does not always update. It will update when you view your account. I bet that is what it is and you have been charged. If not, luck is on your side!

@sherryt it seems they do not charge tax... I went into my acct and I have 0.41 cents left..
