I have gone though a couple periods of ennui with this game. I've contemplated quitting as well.
Them I remember that it's a GAME, and not a daily vice that I must either be addicted to or committed to quit. That would be appropriate for something like smoking cigarettes or biting one's fingernails.
Once you remove the addiction mentality, you're able to play the game more like listening to a radio station: you turn it on when you'd like some entertainment for the moment. But when you're done you then it off, with no concern for when you may listen again. But it's there, available, and you can listen for a few minutes any day without there being a meaning to it.
Hopefully this analogy makes some sense to you and you learn to appreciate the game for its time killing abilities, which is all it should be. If not, piece out!
