The 'events' structure has killed the fun for me

The way new buildings are typically delivered in events now promotes the creating of town 'sections'... (as opposed to the more organic designing promoted by the making available of new buildings at level-up).

I could work with this, but what I can't work with is that attaining new buildings often demands frequent, daily engagement with the game during event periods. It doesn't allow players to play at their own pace, but at EA's pace.

I get why EA has done this, but it's not working for me.

I've been playing this game since near release, and I love the town I've built. But I'm done with the grind of events. A New Year is as good a time as any to decide that I've had enough.

This thread isn't a whine thread. I just needed to make it because I've invested years of my life in this game, and I felt it deserved some kind of obituary. RIP.

  • Being able to move things in chunks really helps. I have my forested outskirts, which includes the western town as well as a lot of the spooky stuff and aliens - and now the Pagan stuff. When we get new land, I just move it en masse, then fill in the 'town' area.

Also agreed. If they gave us land in the form of clusters (4 x 4) squares or so, it would be easier to manage different themed sections of town.
I for one don't like the look of having my Future-world sandwiched between by Western-world and my devil-worshiping-world.

    This +100!

I definitely agree about the pace and town sectionalism.

I also agree. In fact I've done it. I have permanent areas now I've decided not to touch ever again. I may touch them up here and there but. The way the game is now I got no time to destroy it and start over. I feel its a overwhelming feeling that we get or I get at least....where I never know where to put the new items because I either got no room or don't expect to get more items so soon. Especially after a major event. Makes it harder to think of what to do....and I have to blame EA for this. As for the OP, I'm sorry and I understand your frustration.
  • A lot of people are getting bored of it. Mostly because the event mechanics and awful prizes.

All this repeat building rubbish should be stopped right away. We are meant to be building a Springfield not a housing estate.

I totally agree with your point.
