- While I don't claim to know what's causing everyone to lose donuts, there are a couple of things in this update that definitely have the potential to "trick" people into blowing donuts.
1. Donut spend confirmation -- the last few updates, they've been good about not resetting one's confirmation setting. This time around, my donut spend confirmation got turned off.
2. When you try to buy/upgrade something in SH and don't have enough materials, you get the option to rush with donuts or "Do it," which actually means, "No, don't rush with donuts." I don't know what they were thinking with that wording. Mopurglar wrote:

Hey bud! RL has been busy lately, but I'm doing great! Hope you're doing well too :)
Happy to say I haven't lost any donuts.- I left for work having opened SH and I had 104 doughnuts, I came home to 52 doughnuts, I contacted support it went to 51 doughnuts. I just went to check on something in another room and now I have 9! :(
- I lost donuts and it won't let me go back on anymore
- Lost 26 donuts. Contacted support, waiting for answer.
- I lost all my donuts had around 100 and now im down to 0.

Just contacted EA as well, they refused to refund my donuts again (just like yesterday) and said instead to wait for the patch. They said they saw the post on the forum and it's incorrect.
I asked why some users are getting their donuts back but not me, and his reply was:
"We've got some support that's not really handled directly by EA, but via vendor sites, and they typically aren't in-the-know as much as those of us under the actual banner are."
That's pretty bad when you have to hope that you get NON-EA support in order to get any help.
