I think (not 100% sure!) that the courtesy chips only come from losing at Moe's casino. The other ones for crafting/upgrading come from tapping gamblers too. I have not done any crafting or upgrading so far. As you can use all 4 to upgrade, if you get a lot more of one type than the others, it would make sense to use those for upgrading. That is why I am currently waiting to see how many I get of each type.
Okay, thanks for the advice, I'm really lost with what to do with crafting this event. Do we know if the crafting is just for the Act, or the whole event? We thought it was the whole event last time out, and a number of us (myself included) lost out on a number items. Can you post here when you start crafting, how much material you have, and what you do with them?
I'd love a nap later, but I got a busy day! :( It's always a risk during events for me, because I set alarms for waking me up in the middle of the night to tap Gamblers, so I don't have to use too many gold tokens.

It is very difficult to predict if you can get the final prize since one major source of chips is the slots which are random, but if you look at how are you doing on a daily basis it is easier to see if you can do it or not. I was unable to begin playing the event until Wednesday evening as I was stuck in an airport with bad and very expensive wifi. I am now at 35800 tokens, but then, I am a premium player which helps of course. On the other hand, I have only been able to send my characters to Burn's casino three times a day as work has gotten in the way (yes, I am seriously considering quitting that very time-consuming activity called work).
What benefits are you getting from being Premium this event? It helps with the VIP Clubcard Points Prize Track, but nothing else as far as I've heard.
La Belle Frottage also gives tokens (110 every 4 hours, as far as I recall).
