TIP: place island immediately, don't collect bells until you do

I had read it was similar to other events like that. I went to place it immediately but it was t in my inventory. It was t until I reinstalled that it finally appeared!
Make sure that bell count task starts too- if it doesn't just do resync tricks! KL visit/one friend visit/hard close and reopen town.
You just really want to make sure it starts!

I'm getting close... 21847 bells and counting... I did use a couple of rounds of donuts to expend some excess elves and boost my count a little. But I'm feeling like I might make it before the event ends!

I fell foul of this one and had over 500 bells not counted. Hopefully EA will rectify this for future events.

Fortunately I remembered this and went back to my town midway through friend visits immediately after passing the 22,500 mark. I don't think I'm going to get to the 4,000 bonus even so unless the bell collection deadline is extended, but I should be close.

To me this isn't really a glitch that needs to be fixed, since attaining the bonus prize is set up as a task in your task list. You don't get new character task prompts halfway through friend visits, so naturally you also won't start collecting your bonus bells until you log into your town and the new task can be assigned.

A great tip, provided you hit the goal while on neighbor visits...unfortunately for me, I hit my goal while firing my cannon. No way to preserve the extra bells I received. :cry:
