no way the characters can survive 3 battles, let alone win them
They can easily survive and win. It'll be more obvious once you start playing, you need to choose the right characters. One battle I just did only had one adversary, and a very easy win for fallout boy on his own.
If it is like tapball then upgrades will heal so worth looking out for that too
Agreed. Plus, I was able to win a 3-gang battle using only one character without sustaining any damage. It's all about which order you select characters and their strengths.
