I got it working! Finally!

Years ago we bought a LInksys 900+ AP access point when we were trying to share our internet between our house and lodge (about 600 feet apart). It has a CLIENT mode which lets you use it as a wireless receiver (like one of those USB Wireless devices you get when the built in wireless on your laptop dies). I finally figured out the correct IP address to give it so it would connect to the Hot Spot.

Now I can finally read my email that's been backing up for days. And look stuff up on the internet without waiting 15 minutes for a page to load...

So glad it is working now! So sorry you had all that trouble, though.

Congrats! I was going to ask if the withdrawal was very bad, but it sounds like you're in business again

Well, we got another new satellite modem Monday... And it didn't work. We called tech support and found out it hadn't been set up, so they gave us GPS coordinates to put in it: 0 degrees 0 minutes North, 0 degrees 0 minutes West. Putting us somewhere in the Gulf of Guinea south of Africa if those were correct.

I managed to pull the coordinates off our old modem and got it working, but we were still having problems.

Today a technician showed up (4 hours early) and adjusted our dish and re-initialized the modem. Now it's even worse. I can't stay in the game for more than a few minutes at a time. And it's the same problem the last one had: the Up-link keeps going out. Good thing I sprang for the 5 gb wireless card...

What a pain
