Not to be cynical (as Annette prepares to be cynical) but if I had not read the store-a-building trick on this forum, I would not know it. Only a microcosm of TSTO players would ever visit a forum and learn tricks like that. In fact, I had been on the forum and very active for months before even happening to come up on such a post.
EA must make a fortune from millions of people speeding tasks and buildings. A cancel button would cost them real money. I can't imagine they will want to be doing that.
On paper I'd agree with you on that, but in practice I highly doubt they made a lot. There's only a handful of people who would continue speeding up tasks after using up their free donuts and spending real money on them. Most people just wait it out.
