I've never seen this happen, nor has it been mentioned in the forums here. Since a lot of people have turned on the XP collider recently, surely we would have heard about by now if there was a glitch like that. I would suggest testing with KEM stores, since it gives you a nice even round number of 2000 XP upon completion.
