Unfortunate gripe

I feel like the only ball they dropped is not pulling the tasks which became unavailable to us. Example: It listed kids could still spawn nightmares from the fire, when they were changing over to brown house duties.

It's obvious THEY thought the flashy transition to "boss style" monster fighting was this big, significant bridge, but it was such a change from routine it really required better instructions and more precise control of what tasks were available to us. This would have better guided us through it. But honestly, how many people got lost because they tapped through Bart and Lisa's dialog too fast and missed the one explanation bubble?

This is definitely one of those times where they just let it ride, because in less than the time to make a correction, most players will progress on anyway. Plus, what's wrong with a little confused chaos to elevate player anxiety? Isn't that part of the game's psychology? Doesn't seem that new to me, for them to intentionally stress us out.

But "why?" Why change?? Really? My first thought is that they didn't want to hear a bunch of "unfortunate gripes" that the event was too repetitive, with every act bring identical. Or unfortunate gripes that "it's just like Family Guy". Or maybe they just wanted to increase the difficulty in the later stages of the game. Certainly not unusual for a video game to get harder as you progress in levels.

But unfortunately, there's always going to be someone making "unfortunate gripes".

So many people armchair quarterbacking this game. Still waiting for any whiner here to release THEIR superior video game.
  • Yes, I have read the multiple threads about using more than one brown house, and clearing all the spawns, and staggering when you tap them. None of this works for me. I am not spawning star at all. I am not spawning bunnies or skeletons at all. I cannot start a ticket with ea.help, currently because I am still receiving a message it is not working as it should be. When I attempt to enter what platform I am using, the page freezes and will not go past this point.

I found the glitch in my game. Steps to REPRO:

    1. Go to your ORIGINAL brown house (first one you placed)
    2. Clear nightmare task here
    3. Tap all the nightmares that spawn around it.
    4. Go to a DIFFERENT brown house. Clear task here
    5. SCROLL back to this ORIGINAL brown house. Your nightmares spawn here (for whatever reason)
    6. Tap those nightmares.
    7. Go to Brown House #3
    8. Repeat steps 5 and 6
    9. Go to Brown House #4
    10. Repeat step 8

If you clear the brown houses in immediate succession or with IRS, each nightmare is replaced with a more recent one. If your town is full, they will be banked. If your bank is full, well then they are lost. The idea is to clear the most nightmares first out of the town. Take turn(s) clearing each brown house and defeating their nightmares, then reassign tasks at the end.

Enjoy the rest of your tapping day!
  • Exactly what I do except with 5 houses, thinking of doing 6. 5 stopped randomly Nightmares coming out my Campfire instead.

The only thing to add would be there is no bank in Act 3, you can only hold 20 in game Nightmares.

I also re-task the kids after clearing each house, makes it easier to spread the load between houses without having to think each time who goes where.

Good to see someone else believes me about the primary/first bought Brown House

Must have missed your post. I was curious why I was never seeing bunnies or skeletons, until I figured out that they spawn around (well my original) brown house. I only have 1 out and sold the rest when my housing requirement was maxed just having 1 of each building. This phase has forced me to buy 3 others, but all the nightmare generation happens at the one (and only) that I had originally.
