Unofficial Next Event Speculation Thread

I have a question for the more seasoned tappers.... Has an event update ever hit the game without any forewarning? Since I've started playing last year it seems that EA always gives hints or clues at least a few days before. Seems a lot of people are expecting something on the 16th because of the game requiring newer devices on that date...but with no clues in the App Store or Facebook page as of yet, I'm not holding my breath.
