No, donuts are the way for impatient people to get eggs and waste donuts. You'll be able to acquire plenty for free, don't worry.

510 doughnuts for everything except the Egg Packages. That includes the Generators and the Baskets. Not sure what the baskets do.

12hr fro 75 blue on the small generator 40 donuts
24hr for 300 pink on the larger generator 75 donuts

The generators only produce one type of egg. That seems somewhat idiotic.

Krustyland in swarming with brown bunnies as well as friends town, but they do pay anything.
