Update speculation makes no sense
Yeah we'll the simpsons show isn't entirely consistent with things as you would know, I mean in the stonecutters ep the Simpsons house was behind the power plant

The reason people speculated that it might start this week is because in the raw files it stated "Whacking Day Event ends May 2nd" so even though it's May 10th on the show, the files indicate an earlier release. Also, the Halloween event lasted a month and this event is rumored to be similar in size and content, so this week or next seem to make sense. All rumors and speculation, but at least it gives us something to anticipate and look forward to.
And this is a game run by EA, not the Simpsons show. They can be as inaccurate as they want.
