Upgrade castles or Spend Elixir?
Go with the decorations unless you think you already have enough decorations then just spend the rest on pointless upgrades...it's all on you, if you want more stuff buy it now.

Definitely upgrade the characters. Maybe the castles will be included for FPs. And I don't mean Fright Points. That is for the Family Guy Halloween event.
