You are correct. Lincoln cost 150 donuts with his cabin and was the best premium item and character for the July 4th 2013 event. And yes, his outdoor tasks are great, and worth the purchase IMO.
As mentioned, his 8 hour task is nice, splitting rails, in front of his cabin. The 24 hour task is to blend in, and is funny. I really like the 4 hour task, which is outdoor as well, and is him giving a speech. If you have Miss Springfield, you can line up them with Mayor Quimby and have all three of them giving speeches in front of the Springfield Town Hall. It is a pretty nice outdoor task that is considered individual, but is kind of a multi task as well, just optional. I really enjoyed Lincoln's overall dialogue and storyline as well, thought it was pretty hilarious. So I would recommend him to go with Brandine, whom I just purchased.
I already had Howard's Flowers from last Valentine's. I had to buy Brandine because I can't wait to get the spucklers and my avatar in my own actual game. I have had this little spuckler for awhile now, and never expected him to be added. But I would purchase her regardless.
