Somehow the reply I made to the thread got eaten or something. The ability to give something to someone else opens up a door for "gold sellers" to sell stuff to others for real money. And that is something no game company wants to deal with. And is an unfortunate result of any trade or gifting system. That's not to say they wouldn't make one but it is a deciding factor in making one because there are expenses involved in dealing with the "gold sellers".
