It increases the radius of the impact area when you squash the Rigelians.

- It increase the radius of the blast allowing you to kill more aliens in fewer taps. The higher the level, the larger the radius.

Nails also aren't used to craft any other item. So you may as well upgrade you weapon ;)- It increases in range with each upgrade, so you squish more with a single touch.
