Whacking Day Prizes v. Halloween Prizes (Individual and Community)

I agree 100% hopefully they will make up for it at Christmas. :) I feel like it kind of evens out in a way though... WD it was a lot harder to achieve the prizes. I for one only got half of them. :( but for this one I'm already at 16,000. And I do have to thank them for being so gracious with donuts with this update. Very happy with that and I really hope they continue to be so giving during the holidays. ;)

I like the Halloween prizes better. I like any prize that has a char and building for free. But this time around got 1 char I never knew would even be in the game. That is the witch. I think she was only ever in one show. I could not believe we got Count Burns for free. I though he would of been a premium!!!!!!!!!!!! We just now need his Homer monster. I wonder if King Kong Homer is a skin or another char? And probly Christmas we will get the most buildings. How many did we get last year for Christmas?

King Kong Homer looks like pretty much an animated decoration for the building, from speculation I've read.
  • Whacking day I never got to stadium or hotel. Needed a playing partner and didn't have one, it was not a well designed event for those playing a lot and solo.

Halloween is great, already have all prizes, 100 active friends and play multiple times a day.

Also, don't remember the specific event, but missed out on santas helper by hours!! Very sad :(

EA is improving events in my book.
  • The issues I had with Whacking Day were:

    1. Placing 1 egg at a time became very tedious
    2. Cracking eggs only produced more eggs instead of snakes.
    3. Prizes seemed unattainable (probably because I didn't know about this forum when I started playing)

What I do like about Halloween this year is that there is more of a chance of getting donuts from doing anything.

    Drawbacks from Halloween:

    1. King Snorky doesn't have any missions attached after Homer has completed those side-quests.
    2. Zombie Cat, Random Zombies just roam the town. Seems like they should have some kind of mission attached.

I agree that we get (Freak Show Tent and Strongman Homer) but these were from a rather boring and lackluster Treehouse of Horror.

Don't get me wrong, I love getting the donuts and prizes, but if there is a mission to use a Ray Gun to shoot down a spaceship, it should be free!
  • Donuts were possible, just not an everyday occurance like Halloween '13. Oh and thanksgiving prize. You will be sorely disappointed.
  • Anyone saying the prizes are better from whacking day dont realise Halloween can only stick to a small set of episodes, whacking say could pretty much do anything now as the source material isn't all that large.
  • Personally I like the special currency model over the prize model.

We could use our currency to buy what we wanted and then have to collect more instead of a counter that continues to add.

Like for example last Xmas we had Santa coins and I knew it would be tight at the end so I decided to skip the stupid funzo and save for Santas little helper. It worked because I was able to get him and then I think I would have got enough coins to buy the funzo but they introduced the Santa sock which I used my coins on the rest of the event and probably accumulated close to 40 donuts and 8 reindeer.

I got so many reindeer :) Not as many as I could have, though, if I realised there would be a use for Santa Coins, and that they wouldn't just get 'eaten by Homer' at the end of it

Kind of like the Heart Shredder during Valentine's Day?

I was just hoping the Community Prizes/Goal wouldn't just produce prizes that are limited to Halloween (Ghost Bomb) seems like that one should have been a mission reward or unlocked after Homer completed one of his many missions.

In addition to all pointed out above.....the return of most all decorations/buildings/skins from last halloween for those that missed/couldn't afford them last time.

PS- I know we are talking about prizes only, but I think there were a lot of people excited to get "old" items just as much as the prospect of new ones.

Definitely...as I just started playing midway through last year's Halloween event, I wasn't in buy-donuts mode yet! Been regretting not getting Witch Marge since then, and now I have her!

Hoping they do the same for Christmas. I was stupid and didn't buy Santa's Village last year.
