What changed with the Christmas 2014 & Level 48 updates?

Hmmm... is the Kwik-E-Mart income removal on purpose or a glitch? Don't get me wrong, the money from it was negligible anyway, but I'm just curious if the idea is now for it to function more like the dog track and less like a Krusty Burger.

Looking at the artwork and the removal of the timer, I'd say it's deliberate.
